A simple mat and a spine corrector were our tools this week.  Apparently Nadja told us that a spine corrector is an essential Pilates tool that can be used to perform exercises that lengthen and strengthen the torso, shoulders, especially the back and legs - while correcting or restoring the spine's natural curvature.  We appreciated the gentler curve on the barrel and definately the stretching and probably aligning a bit of our spine. ...

Pilates Group - Tuesday 23rd

On Tuesday November 23rd, the Pilates group consisted of four ladies. We had a combination of mat Pilates and basic suspension training. We used the ropes to do the bridge, front planks and leg stretch. It worked well on our core area and arms. We also used a spine corrector to stretch our spine. It felt good. This simple stretch alleviates tightness and pain in the cervical spine (neck).

On November 11th our Pilates group did a Pilates Circuit where we combine cardio elements that make us sweat with resistance training to build our lean muscles. We used a range of Pilates equipment - in a circuit format to provide a more varied workout. We spent about 3 minutes at each station with a small rest period between each exercise. Pilates Group - November 2nd

On November 2nd, the Pilates group held a session. We worked mostly on our mat this week - a great option for beginners to be honest. The class on this day emphasized learning how to control our muscles during exercises and our balance. Therefore, Nadja combined our mat training with the MOTR. The exercises we did with the MOTR included training our balance, our core, our upper body and lower body, standing, and planks.

Tuesday October 12th, Pilates took place at our usual location. We worked with the Pilates ring this time. Doing Pilates with the ring adds more resistance to our workout, while at the same time increasing the strength and endurance of our heart muscles. Pilates Group - October 5th

Like every Tuesday the ladies attended their pilates class at 9am on Oct 5th. We practiced our breathing before the class, shoulder bridge preparation. We built our core by doing leg lifts, side leg lifts, toe taps, mermaid side stretch and many other movements. Our spine and core are getting stronger after each session. It’s a good feeling to see improvements.

As usual, our Pilates session took place on Tuesday at 9:00am. On September 21st, there were eight ladies participating in the class.  At this session, we worked more on our core/stomach muscles. Pilates Group - September Class

After 2 months of summer break, the IWC ladies started with their Pilates class again with LikePilates on the 14th of September. The class started at 9am and it took place in the studio in Dedinje. We did some basic exercises to increase our flexibility and strengthen our posture. Additionally we did several stretching exercises which felt really good. Like always we did a mixture of mat Pilates and machine.

On June 24th, the Walking Group tried out a Pilates class. Under the hot scorching sun, seven ladies took part in the Pilates class conducted by Nadja Hadžistević.  We started at 9am and ended by 10:30am.   At the beginning of the class, Nadja briefed us the importance of our posture and keeping our core/stomach tucked in at most exercises.
