On Wednesday 6th of April, IWC members were invited to join a knitting workshop featuring David Van De Kamp, thanks to our member Valerie Lane as our host for this workshop. David is a Serbian designer, textile historian, expert knitter, weaver and the owner of Old Mountain Wool. His popular knitting patterns can be found on Ravelry’s online shop. His wool is created from Serbian sheep, a unique breed he is helping to promote and preserve. The 20 ladies were introduced to the basics of knitting: cast-on, knit, pattern reading and bind-off. In addition, they were introduced to different yarns, different needles, how to read, and understand labels on yarns, and various tools/accessories which are used in knitting.
For more information about David, his patterns and his wool, see his Facebook page, Instagram and YouTube channel.
