Psychological post Covid 19 support for elderly people in Belgrade - 470.000 rsd
Bread of Life was established in 1992 on the initiative of believers from the Baptist and Protestant Evangelical churches of Belgrade to address the need to provide humanitarian aid to refugees from Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and internally displaced people from Kosovo. Their mission is to minister to the needs of the poor and vulnerable in the society. Bead of Life develops and implements a variety of humanitarian ans social programs, such as their longterm programs: first, social services for elderly, promotion of active aging and support for families with dementia and second, support in education, psychosocial development and integration of marginalized groups of children.
The up-and-down epidemiological situation and the measures tken to prevent the Covid 19 pandemic often cause confusion and misunderstanding among the population of the elderly people, especially for the ones with dementia.
The beneficiaries of the project which is supported by IWC are caregivers of elderly people suffering from dementia, who are also family members of the demented person. The program includes psychological, mental and physical health support through various workshops for caregivers led by a psychologist or neuropsychiatrist and workshops for demented persons who have the ability to come to premises, led by occupational therapist.
Also, 10 most vulnerable demented persons will get diapers, purchased with IWC funds.
