"Svratište za Decu" – keeping Belgrade’s vulnerable children off of the streets

The Center for Integration is an NGO based in New Belgrade and Zvezdara, with the mission to support children ages 5-15 from socially disadvantaged families in Belgrade. The “Svratište za decu” project provides a drop-in shelter where young people, who might otherwise be living and working on the street, can safely play and learn. The Center works closely with the children and their families to improve quality of life and encourage integration of the children into the school system.

With the funds raised from the sale of our book, IWC purchased much-needed supplies for the shelter. IWC donated 36 boxes of supplies containing personal hygiene items (soaps, toothbrushes, underwear) and disinfectants to help the shelter prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus and meet the basic needs of the children who visit the shelter daily.

Thank you to our friends at Calix d.o.o for donating bottles of hand sanitizer to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and help keep the Svratište shelter a safe and clean space for children.
