On January 8th, 2020 IWC members visited the exhibition by Marina Abramović, named "Čistač" (The Cleaner) at the Museum of Modern Art.
Marina Abramović is a world-renown performance artist. Very divisive, people either love her or hate her. She started her artistic career in Belgrade but left her home city 40 years ago and become famous in the west.
Her performances are mostly testing the limits of her physical body and mental stamina. Her performance "The Artist Is Present" in the Museum of Modern Art in New York was visited by 800.000 people. She’s received many prizes for her work, including the Golden Lion in Venice. Lady Gaga was one of the students of the Institute Abramović founded and financed.
This was one of a time opportunity for Belgrade residents and our members to visit such an exhibition, as people often travel to New York just to see Abramović’s work. Nevertheless, while visiting the exhibition some members of the club run into our friends from IWC Zagreb who were visiting Belgrade to see the exhibition.
All of the members left the museum full of impressions. It was a very interesting and unique experience.
