Summer has come and passed…
Rain, yellowing leaves and chilly evenings are all announcing the arrival of Autumn and the time for sweaters, hot drinks and gatherings indoors. Our 19th annual Charity Bazaar is fast approaching and the board as well as the activity coordinators are hard at work to offer you plenty of interestings things to do to combat the season change blues!
Attention!
The board has extended the deadline to pay the 7000 RSD membership fee for the year 2022/23 to October 5th, either by bank transfer or in cash at the upcoming Coffee Morning to the IWC treasurer, Verena Hartmann. The IWC treasurer has a sensitive and complicated task that with your help and support, we wish to make as smooth as possible. This will also make sure that members receive their badges and stickers on time, so they may enjoy the benefits of their membership as soon as possible.
We also have new members who are waiting for the membership list to be finalized, so the board may approve or delay their application. Therefore, we are introducing a late fee of 1000 RSD for current members who fail to pay their membership until the deadline. They will have until October 31st to pay the full amount (8000 RSD). On November 1st all non-paid memberships will be deactivated and stop receiving the newsletter. All who wish to join the club will have to go through the application process once again. We thank you for your understanding and support.
Below you will find a filled out sample of a bank transfer payment slip:

Anti-Colonial Museum
08.09.2022 to 31.12.2022 | Museum of African Art | Andre Nikolića 14
The concept of an Anticolonial Museum is based on the very history of the Museum of African Art, whose initiators, Veda Zagorac and Zdravko Pečar were active protagonists of the anticolonial struggle - referring here mostly to their engagement in the Algerian war for independence from the French colonial rule, that was ongoing between 1954. and 1962. year.
However, the exhibition is not just a historicization of Yugoslav anticolonialism, although it takes it as a starting point in its reflection. Relying on the MAA work over decades, as well as numerous theoretical and artistic interventions that problematised museums as such, the exhibition strives to trace a possible model of museum work that would rely on anticolonialism understood as an affective heritage of this place.
Time: 8th of September to 31st of December
Place: Museum of African Art | Andre Nikolića 14
