Our dear member, Maya Whitworth, extends a warm invitation to all IWC members to participate in her upcoming workshop "Overcoming Trauma". The workshop aims to introduce the latest scientific and comprehensive care in treating trauma and chronic pain using an integrated approach of Clinical Pilates, Body Psychotherapy, and EMDR. It is a holistic and interactive workshop designed to equip and empower you to take control of your health recognising that stress, trauma, and pain are interconnected and can affect all aspects of our lives from our body, mind and relationships with ourselves and others.

The workshop will be exclusive for IWC members and their guests if applicable.

During the "Overcoming Trauma" workshop you will learn exercises and methods that will help you regulate your nervous system, alleviate pain, and recognise and release from your body and mind the feelings and fears that are limiting you. The goal of the workshop is to reconnect with ourselves, with our inner voice, and with our repressed emotions so that we can feel relief or gain new insights. It is to embrace the feeling in our bodies that it is safe to be who we are and learn how to feel safe and alive in our bodies again.

Dragana Ivanovic, a famous Serbian psychotherapist and expert in the field, and Maya will lead the workshop and share valuable insights.

Every one of us has felt anxious at some point. Whether it is walking home through a poorly lit street or a quiet park, or being approached by unknown people on the street. Abigail Bedson, Regional Overseas Security Manager at the British Embassy, will explain how best to behave in such situations. The Security Talk will focus on women's safety and will cover some high-profile cases from recent years, situational awareness, and crime prevention advice.

Abi was a Police Officer in the UK for almost 22 years and has spent the last four years working for the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office as Security Manager for the British Embassy in Dubai and currently as Regional Overseas Security Manager covering the British Embassies of Serbia, Kosovo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Albania, North Macedonia and Montenegro.

CHARITY CORNER

Bazaar Presentation

February 15th 2024 - IWC Newsletter

The IWC Charity Bazaar 2023 was a great success. 41 embassies and country representations participated as exhibitors or prize donors for the raffle, where there were a total of 248 great prizes to be won. We sold 1.560 entrance tickets and 1.677 raffle tickets.

This allowed us to collect 2.577.720 RSD on the day of the event. With the additional donations from various companies and the amount we had left over from sponsoring after covering all costs, the total amount was 4.214.342 RSD (36.020 €). This is a fantastic sum that can now be distributed to projects aimed at empowering women. The detailed financial report on the charity bazaar can be found in the attachment to this newsletter. The media report can be viewed on our website

Together we have achieved a magnificent result and we would therefore like to thank all the members of the bazaar committee and the many volunteers who made a significant contribution to the success of the charity bazaar. Without your support, this result would not have been possible. Thank you very much!
