MID-MONTH REVIEW

Charity Bazaar

What a day! Our 20th charity bazaar on 3 December was a complete success. This year, over 35 embassies participated as exhibitors or donors. In addition, we received several donations from companies and private individuals. Eleven companies supported us financially as event sponsors or by providing their services free of charge and over 75 private companies contributed prizes to our raffle. We were able to collect a total of 3.404.140 RSD on the day and this is not yet the final total, as we are expecting further donations by the end of the month.

But we owe this success above all to you, our members. Without your support and hard work, this would not have been possible. Special thanks go to the members of the bazaar committee who have worked tirelessly over the past few weeks to make the event a success. Many thanks to Iolanta Mura, Ivana Devčić, Marina von König, Anna Petrović, Felicity Quick, Nicole Collins, Yoloxochitl Aguilar, Jazba Hadzibulić, Nataša Savić, Tatjana Levi, Marisol Vargas, June Weng and Jelena Marinković. And of course, a big thank you to all IWC members who helped on the day of the event. Thank you very much!

Coffee Morning

Our last Coffee Morning of 2023 took place on Friday when our President Barbora Kuchtova invited us to the Embassy of the Czech Republic. IWC Members were treated to a delicious spread and sparkling refreshments whilst being serenaded by the student choir of the British International School. A big thank-you to Barbora and all involved, who ensured we left full of Christmas spirit.

Christmas Photoshoot

Thank-you to everyone who participated in the Christmas Mini Sessions, we hope you have all now received your photos and are enjoying them. A big thank-you to Wilhelm Kahle for giving up his time 2 weeks in a row to not only photograph our Bazaar but also facilitate this photoshoot. We are pleased to announce that we were able to raise €300 to go towards our chairty fund!

Activity Groups

What a fabulous few months we have had so far in our activity groups learning new skills, exploring the Serbian countryside and most importantly, making new friends.

CHARITY CORNER

SWAG Donations

Once again this year, we made children's eyes light up and we did so with the Social Work Activity Group (SWAG) Christmas gift campaign. SWAG coordinator Katarina collected over 70 Christmas presents lovingly put together by our members and handed them over last Saturday together with our President Barbora and some IWC members. This year, the Christmas parcels went to the children at Sava Jovanović Sirogojno Primary School. The beneficiaries are children with varying physical and mental needs aged between 5 and 15 years of age. We were delighted to be able to make these children happy and would like to thank all our members who packed such lovely parcels. Merry Christmas!

Charity Committee

The IWC Board is delighted with the success of this year's Charity Bazaar and the amount of money we were able to raise for projects aimed at empowering women. Our Charity Committee will assemble in January to select the projects that can be supported with the money over the coming months. We are even more pleased that we are already compiling the Charity Committee team and can entrust them with this important task for our club. Christina Czettl has once again agreed to chair the Charity Committee this year. She will be supported by Anna Petrović and Vassilena Radanović. Ann Pesić will again assist the committee as an advisor. Thank you all very much for your willingness and motivation!
