"There is no bad weather, only bad clothes!"

Last Thursday 7th of October the Walking Group walked from the Brazilian residence to Beton Hala and Kalemegdan Park, and finally to lunch at BAD Sushi (Belgrade Asian Dining). We walked about 7km, burned 600 calories, and walked 9000 steps. The weather was cloudy, windy and it was 13 degrees Celsius. But with the wind it felt colder. It was a good thing that we dressed warmly. There is a wonderful Norwegian saying, “There is no bad weather, ...

Ada Ciganlija Lake

On September 30th, the ladies of IWC took part in an 8km walk around Ada Ciganlija Lake. The weather was rather gloomy and cloudy, nevertheless it didn’t kill the spirit of these lovely ladies to walk and exercise. We had two new members joining us in this walk: Elisa & Özge. They had so much fun with us that they are coming back for the next walk on the 9/10/21. The beautiful thing about this walking activity is that we chat, get to know each other and make ...

The walk took place from 10:30am till 1:00pm.   The streets towards the river are not that long but amazingly walkable with interesting layouts of the streets, and you can get a good impression of the city.  Strahinjića Bana for instance is a street ...

Ada Lake in June

On the 3rd of June the IWC Walking Group took a walk around Ada Lake (once again). We had a nice peaceful walk around this artificial lake. It took us about 2 hours around the lake and we walked about 8 km in total. Most of the restaurants and coffee shops around are open now.   When we visited this place during COVID most cafes were closed and Ada looked rather empty and solemn, which it isn’t under normal circumstances. Therefore we were happy that we were able to ...

Zvezdara

On the 26th of May the walking group organized a walk in park Zvezdara. It is located right in the heart of the city.  It is a small oasis in the city of Belgrade and this forest is near the city center but it looks like you are miles away! This park is beautiful and peaceful for resting, riding bikes, and walking (and mini hiking). Verena and I enjoyed each other’s company in this tranquil green park - strolling, walking, and exploring what this oasis has to ...

This pretty woodland environment contains Prince ...

Topčider

The walking group walked and hiked at one of the greenest and most prestigious parts of Belgrade, Topčider. This is an excellent park in the urban area for a walk. It was half sunny day, chilly and windy, but this thick forest protected us with its abundance of green big trees. We met up at a restaurant, Milosev Konak and from there we walked in the forest.  It was muddy from the previous days of continuous rain, but it was so quiet and calm, as though we had the forest to ...

Ada Lake

Last Thursday the walking group was greeted with 15 ladies who walked around Ada lake together.  The beautiful weather graced us with plenty of sunshine and blue skies, as though it knew we all really needed plenty of vitamin D! Ada Lake gave us a nice oasis feeling, tucked away from all the city hustle. It is definitely a place to take a stroll/walk, especially with great company. As the organizer of the walking group I am so touched by the turn out of participants that day. ...

Thursday March 11th, the walking group walked in Zemun. It was a short walk but it was interesting to see Zemun on a weekday. The walking group took a walk in Hyde Park last Thursday 3/12/20. There were 4 of us and we fought the strong wind and coldness like warriors We decided to walk in Hyde Park this time round because this park is a green oasis of Belgrade.
