On April 22nd, the IWC Walking Group went hiking in the green Oasis of Belgrade; Topcider Park (Topcider-Kosutnjak).  It is one of the largest forested areas in Belgrade. It’s situated next to Dedinje and Senjak.  According to Wikipedia, the name of this park derives from Turkish and it means cannon valley because in the early XVI century Ottomans cast their cannons here for the attack on Belgrade.

This pretty woodland environment contains Prince Milos’s Residence, Topcider Church. This forest of deciduous and coniferous trees is intersected by many paths. The walking group members were brave to hike in the valley of Topčider where there are several bumpy but paved trails that go around a few monuments, fountains, ponds and two restaurants with traditional cuisine.  Topčider park is a popular forest. We enjoyed the nice stroll while sightseeing monuments, the greens and the spectacular view.
