Humanitarian Organisation/ NGO AMITY is well known for its actions in assisting, improving and educating local communities, other NGOs and social services in the creation of sustainable social policies targeting marginalized social groups. AMITY’s mission is to help create an environment where the rights of the marginalized, deprived, discriminated against and abused individuals, families and groups are raised to a higher level.

This year’s project is called “Distribution of humanitarian parcels to poor older persons in eight underdeveloped municipalities in Serbia” and is targeting villages in eastern Serbia: Bosilegrad, Svrljig, Merošina, Vlasotince, Ražanj, Petrovac na Mlavi, Trstenik, and Ćićevac. The parcels will contain food provisions and elementary hygiene items. They will be delivered personally or through relatives and neighbours, promoting in this way a spirit of solidarity and socialisation for those who suffer as much from solitude as from deprivation. Delivery will be followed by a short instructive session on how to address and assist seniors and how to cope with dementia.
