The International Women’s Club provided support for twelve worthy projects in the 2017-2018 funding year. At the bottom of this page you will find a report showing the amounts provided to each organization. 

The Association for Supporting Persons with Special Needs MNRO Novi Pazar.

Provision of machines in the production of souvenirs and useful home items as work therapy for people with disabilities in day care. This project also helps to improve social and ethnic cohesion in this multi ethnic society.   

Home for Children and Youth “Stanko Paunovic” Negotin.

Procurement of equipment for speech therapy for three different groups of beneficiaries: boarding for students of primary and secondary school, institutional care for children deprived of parental care and day care for children and youth with special needs.

The Anti-Cancer Association in Sombor.

Training of health professionals from five towns to provide psychosocial assistance to patients suffering of cancer. Strengthening support groups of cured patients. Direct work with patients and their families.

The Association of Parents of Children with Special Needs - MY, Backi Petrovac.

Provision of material for workshops for creating candles and different artistic items. Inclusive project made up of school children, children with disabilities, volunteers, and parents. 

Star Center Nis.

Program for supporting economic empowerment of young people who do not have parental care in their transition from life in institutions to independent life. Project is currently implemented in Belgrade and is planned to extend to NIS. Photos for Star Center Nis charity project

Friends of Children of Serbia (FCS).

Inclusion of children with disabilities who live in institutions and street children, integrating them with their peers in schools and kindergartens. With the support of IWC (co- founding) the organization will use the experience from the pilot phase to create “Destroying the Walls Magic Tool Box”.

Serbian Association for Promoting Inclusion (SAPI).

Helping persons with disabilities, those who have to leave homes for children at the age of 18, in the transition period between leaving the institution and becoming independent. SAPI is providing services such as supported employment, self-advocacy, and home help service.

Novak Djokovic Foundation.

Benefits children who live in extremely remote and isolated areas of Serbia and who attend local primary schools that may have only six to ten students. These children do not have access to ordinary modernity that city children have such as computers, supplies for creative activities, swimming facilities, sports equipment, networking possibilities, teaching appliances, and more. IWC sponsored 10 children to attend a summer camp event with groups of their peers.

The Drop In Centre.

Drop In Centres are retreats and protected environments for children who live and work on the streets. Children can receive hot food, take a shower, change their clothes, have time to play, learn to read, have their health checked, and talk to experts and volunteers. The IWC is purchasing equipment to renovate the bathrooms.

MNRO Zvezdara.

MNRO is an NGO that helps young people who are mentally challenged to learn printing skills. IWC will purchase a printing machine so that participants can print a magazine, which will then be sold on the streets of Belgrade for a small income.

Evo Ruka.

The Community Centre for Inclusion for children with disabilities is expanding its activities, to include a Sports and Arts camp. The camp involves the child’s parents and siblings and helps children acquire new skills and improve existing skills. The IWC funded equipment for art and sports and facilitators for non-verbal communication workshops.

Sensory Room.

Therapy in the sensory room is an innovative method of working with children with various developmental disorders, such as autistic spectrum disorders, children with ADD and ADHD, children with mental insufficiency, with sensory impairments, speech difficulties, learning disabilities, and behavioral problems.  Photos for Sensory Room charity project
